Last year, Norsk Sjømat faced the discontinuation of the accounting system they were using. Consequently, they had to find a new accounting system that met their requirements to ensure ongoing optimal operations. 24SevenOffice became their new choice
Norsk Sjømat Stranda AS is a leading Norwegian processor of salmon and trout, established in Stranda in 1996. Over the course of 26 years, the company has grown to employ hundreds of staff members and now supplies fish of the highest quality to over 40 global markets.
— We were initially satisfied with the system we were using, but we had to find another system that could meet our needs, says Stig Rødseth, the financial manager at Norsk Sjømat.
Need for more integrations
— Since our specialized system covers functions such as procurement, production, inventory, and invoicing, we needed a simple integration with the chosen financial system, explains Rødseth.
They were recommended the financial system from 24SevenOffice by a previous supplier, but they also considered systems from PowerOffice and Xledger.
— 24SevenOffice offers a wide range of integration possibilities, which is very important to us. We have developed several systems ourselves that we use in our operations, and it has been seamless to integrate them into 24SevenOffice. The system has a lot of potential, and we take full advantage of it, explains Rolleiv Sve, the IT manager at Norsk Sjømat.
As simple a system as possible
— We wanted a system that was as simple as possible and were not interested in having features that we don't use in our daily operations. At the same time, we wanted the system to have many opportunities for integrations, adds Rødseth.
Norsk Sjømat has been using the payroll system, accounting system, and AI from 24SevenOffice since November 1, 2022. While it takes time to get everything in order, they are very positive about the system.
—Last year, Norsk Sjømat faced the discontinuation of the accounting system they were using. Consequently, they had to find a new accounting system that met their requirements to ensure ongoing optimal operations. 24SevenOffice became their new choiceI feel that the financial system has great potential – AI is integrated into the accounting system and continuously learns, and processes are becoming more and more automated. It is also exciting for us to have a cloud-based financial system, as it is completely new to us," says Rødseth.
Everyday life is getting easier
— It's difficult to have a full overview so soon after switching systems, and some days are simply more challenging than others. However, we expect it may take up to a year for everything to be in place in the system.
Both the CFO and the IT manager, however, find the dialogue and communication with 24SevenOffice to be good.
— We have meetings and follow-ups every week with our contacts at 24SevenOffice, which ensures that we can regularly express and convey our wishes, needs, and feedback about the system, customer service, and the company in general.
Prioritizing smooth workflows and value creation
— For us at Norsk Sjømat, smooth workflows are important for a functioning everyday life – that way, we can focus on what adds value to our company. Being a safe and good workplace for colleagues and employees is also something we prioritize highly, says Rødseth.
They tackle problems and challenges as they arise – that way, they can move forward more quickly and look ahead.
— For this to be possible, it's important that functions and systems work in a way that provides the best foundation for optimal operations, concludes Rødseth.
